Almost two and a half years ago, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, the two biggest consoles of the 21th century, were launched, thus creating a rivalry between Sony and Microsoft. So which is better; Sony’s PS4 or Microsoft’s Xbox One?
The Xbox One is less expensive, selling at $350, while the PS4 sells at $400. Although the PS4 is at a higher price it is in higher demand, with sales at 22.3 million. This leaves the Xbox One behind at 12.8 million. This could also lead to the argument that people buy the expensive product instead of the cheaper one because they think it has better quality.
Both consoles have their own exclusives: “Halo 5” is a game exclusive to Xbox One, while PS4 has “Until Dawn”. Also, the Xbox One has more ways to view television without using a cable subscription. While PS4 is better for gameplay with friends, it also includes Spotify which is an app to listen to music and PlayStation Vue for streaming tv.
Both consoles were both launched with 500GB storage, and they they can expand if needed. The Xbox One is able to transfer to any external USB 3.0 storage, and it has a faster CPU. The PS4 can only transfer to Solid State Drives.
Even though the PS4 offers a more prominent view for a title, the Xbox One offers better multitasking and customization. It is also getting backward compatibility which is hardware or software system that can successfully use interfaces and data from earlier versions of the system or with other systems, while the PS4 has more consistent 1080p output which is how the gaming graphics look.
