The definition of a hero has changed over time. He or she can be anyone of any race or any age. Even many teens are stepping up and doing all they can to help someone in need.

An example of this is an Arkansas teen in April 2014. Christian Gunter, a 19 year old manager at a home for disabled veterans, saved 10 residents from a powerful tornado that hit the area. Gunter moved them to a nearby church for shelter before the tornado reached them. The storm tore off the entire roof of the home.

In Atlanta, GA on May 3, 2014 a 3-year-old boy fell into an uncovered sewer hole while chasing after a ball. Dontrey Murrey, age 14, climbed down 15 feet to comfort the little boy and make sure he was unharmed while they waited for rescuers.

On the 25th of June 2014 in Staten Island, NY, brothers Michael and Nicholas Tirado, ages 19 and 14 noticed a woman screaming as her vehicle rolled away from her. The brothers tried to stop it by grabbing the front of the vehicle. Michael, the oldest of the duo, hopped in the driver seat and noticed a baby sleeping in the back. He managed to turn the vehicle off before it crashed into anything.
